Taking Norethisterone to delay a period

Recent studies have shown that Norethisterone, when used to delay a period may increase the risk of thromboembolism (clots).

It is essential to assess this risk prior to prescribing Norethisterone. Therefore if it is necessary to delay a period, you should book an appointment with the nurse to assess whether it is safe to take this medication to delay a period.

We are unable to prescribe this medication unless a thorough assessment has taken place and it is deemed safe to prescribe.

Alternatively you can obtain this medication from some of the larger  Chemist chains after undergoing an online consultation.
