Our Nurse Practitioners are very experienced practice nurses who have undergone extensive training to gain an advanced level of skill and knowledge in examining patients in order to diagnose and treat a wide range of minor ailments.

Patients feeling ill will be able to get an urgent appointment more easily and therefore be treated more quickly.

Our Nurse Practitioners can prescribe medication just as the doctor would.

Health Assessment (Masters Level)

The practice nurses are available by appointment only. They carry out numerous tasks which include cervical smears, childhood immunisations, holiday vaccinations, wound dressings and removal of stitches,  ear syringing, family planning advice, chronic disease management clinics (Diabetes, COPD). They assist the doctors in minor surgery.

They are available to offer professional advice by phone on our morning triage service.

Our Healthcare Assistant is available by appointment for a range of clinical procedures including NHS health checks, blood pressure monitoring, smoking cessation, spirometry and  ECG’s etc.  They also assist the Doctors with minor surgery.
